Autumn Lofoten Photography Tour

Dancing Northern Lights in the night sky, rainbows between mountain peaks, red landscapes, and blue fjords; this is what our group experienced during this autumn Lofoten photography tour!

A week full of photography, fun, and I must add, lots of tastings of delicious local food.

One of the highlights of the photo tour was our accommodation, which the group absolutely loved. We stayed in three large red Rorbuer by the sea, with a unique view of one of the most beautiful fjords in the Lofoten Islands. Each Rorbu can house 8 people, but as always, we were just 3 per Rorbu, with everyone having their own private bedroom. It’s one of the best ways to fully enjoy a Lofoten photography tour.

In autumn, there’s no snow yet in the Lofoten Islands, so it’s possible to explore more deeply. Thanks to short hikes, I was able to take the group to some less famous spots, where rivers and waterfalls flow through red foliage, creating breathtaking landscapes.

In September, the days in the Lofoten Islands are still long, with early sunrises and late sunsets. This allowed us to explore and photograph many places each day, while also having time to relax and enjoy typical Norwegian dishes like fish burgers, fish soups, desserts, and the comfort of our red seaside Rorbuer.

This photography tour started with a bang! As soon as we settled in and relaxed a bit in our Rorbuer, the group was already photographing the Northern Lights at Vik beach. The adventure continued with photography in Lofoten’s most beautiful, famous, and hidden spots, adapting our schedule to the weather to always be in the right place at the right time. We also had multiple editing sessions with recordings, where we studied various photographic techniques used in the field, such as focus stacking, perspective blending, HDR, panoramic photography, and we even covered the full start-to-finish workflow for both a single shot and a night panorama.
