Photography Skill Level Required
This workshop is open to photographers of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Whether you are just starting out or already experienced, the itinerary and guidance are adapted to support your level.
The only requirement is an interest in landscape and night photography, along with a willingness to spend time outdoors shooting from sunrise through sunset and into the night under Northern Spain’s skies.
Physical Fitness Requirements
No special physical preparation is required, as most photography locations are easily accessible with short walks.
The only moderately challenging hike is on Day 2: approximately 2 hours round trip (6 km / 3.7 miles, 250 m / 820 ft elevation gain). The trail is wide and well-maintained, with no exposed or dangerous sections, making it manageable for most participants.
What Weather Conditions Can I Expect During This Week?
The weather in Northern Spain can be unpredictable, with a mix of warm days, rain showers, and cooler nights. In spring, daytime temperatures typically range between 15°C and 25°C (59–77°F), while nighttime temperatures—especially during sessions at higher elevations—can drop to around 6°C (43°F).
Rain showers are common, particularly in the forested areas, while the Atlantic coast can experience strong winds and occasional thunderstorms. Being prepared with layers, waterproof clothing, and rain protection will help keep you comfortable while capturing the landscapes in changing conditions.
What Clothing & Gear Should I Bring?
Northern Spain’s weather can change quickly, so we recommend being prepared for both warm days and cool, wet conditions.
We suggest:
🌡️ Base Layer: Lightweight, breathable clothing for daytime hikes
🧥 Mid Layer: Warm fleece or insulated jacket for cooler evenings
🌧️ Outer Layer: Waterproof and windproof jacket for rain and changing weather
🥶 Cold-Weather Layer: Warm layers for night photography at higher elevations
🥾 Footwear: Waterproof hiking boots with good grip and non-slip soles
🧤 Accessories: Hat, gloves, and thermal socks for colder nights
With the right clothing and footwear, you’ll stay comfortable from warm daytime hikes to cool and potentially wet night photography sessions.
