Iceland Winter Photography Tour

Reliving the magic of an unforgettable winter photography tour in Iceland—where each moment, from the breathtaking ice caves to the mesmerizing Northern Lights, became a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for landscape photographers.

Ice Caves, Waterfalls & Breathtaking Landscapes

The wild landscapes of Iceland captured the hearts of our group from day one. The highlights and favorite locations among our guests were undoubtedly the majestic waterfalls, the mesmerizing ice caves, and the iconic Vestrahorn mountain.

This Icelandic winter adventure, guided by expert photographers Giulio Cobianchi and Joaquín Marco, began in the west, exploring vast lava fields and rugged coastlines, before traveling across the country along its famous Ring Road to the eastern village of Höfn. We then made our way back west to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where the legendary Kirkjufell mountain stands tall amidst a breathtaking landscape. And as we ended our adventure in Reykjavík, we carried home not just photos, but memories that would last a lifetime.

Chasing the Northern Lights: A Dream for Landscape Photographers

One of the most unforgettable moments of this Iceland photo tour was witnessing the Northern Lights dancing across the Arctic sky, right above one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls—Skógafoss. This was our second night of the adventure while staying near Seljalandsfoss waterfall.

Capturing this natural wonder requires patience, the right camera settings, and a bit of luck—but when everything aligns, the results are magical. The group walked away with the memory of a lifetime and some truly breathtaking shots of the Aurora.

Iceland Ice Cave Photography: A Private Adventure in the Heart of the Glacier

Another major highlight of our Iceland winter photography tour was the guided ice cave adventure. Our guests fully enjoyed a private photography tour deep inside the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, capturing stunning, high-impact images.

Since it was a private experience, we had the unique opportunity to explore hidden and exclusive ice caves in total peace, without any crowds. Led by expert local guides, we traveled by super jeep and then hiked for a couple of hours to reach two breathtaking crystal-blue ice caves, along with various ice formations and tunnels.

Being completely alone for hours inside these massive caves was truly surreal. At one point, we turned off our headlamps and stood in complete silence, surrounded by deep blue ice. It felt like stepping into another world—just us, our cameras, and nature’s frozen masterpiece

We had all the time we needed to find the best compositions, fine-tune our camera settings, and fully immerse ourselves in the experience of standing inside centuries-old ice.
