How can I reach the meeting point?
The meeting point is Tenerife Sur airport, not after 4pm on May 26th, 2025
On June 1st, in the morning we will bring the group back to the meeting point
What level of photography is required?
All of ours photo tours are open to beginners as well as professionals. Our only criteria is that you have a great passion for photography, and have the energy and motivation to be on the go every day and night.
What physical level is required?
No particular level of preparation is required. There will be easy hikes to reach the photography spots, some with a slight elevation gain but nothing complicated. All the trails are easy and without exposure. Only on the second day, when we go to explore Teide National Park, there will be a hike of about 3 hours.
What kind of weather should I expect?
Tenerife is an incredible island, it has 7 internal microclimates and temperatures change within a few km of car.
During the day, along the coasts and also on the Teide park, we will find temperatures on average warm, very pleasant, between 20 and 30 degrees. During the night on the Teide park where we will take the photos we will be at about 2300 meters, the temperatures will drop approaching 3 or 4 degrees.
What camera gear should I bring?
Recommended:
- Sturdy tripod and ballhead
- SLR or Mirrorless camera body
- Fast wide angle lens in the 12-35mm range. We recommend a lens that is at least F2.8 or faster aperture for night photography
- Mid-range and telephoto lenses, 24-120 and/or 100-400
- Circular polarizer filter, 3-stop ND filter and a 3-stop GND filter.
- A remote control that allows you to take pictures with an exposure longer than 30 seconds
- Extra batteries, memory cards
- Extra cleaning supplies
- Camera backpack
- Drone for aerial photography (optional)
We recommend having these “3 essential landscape photography gears“
What clothes should I bring?
Tenerife has a nice and mild climate (min 20°/max 30°) so summer clothing is ideal.
A windbreaker/sweatshirt is sufficient in the evenings as the average temperature is still warm.
During the day it’s important to protect yourself from the sun with a hat and possibly a sunscreen.
In the Teide National Park we will be about 2000/2400 meters above sea level. The temperature here is a lot lower than down by the sea. You can expect temperatures down to zero degrees Celsius during the night.
Winter clothes and good layers are essential to stay warm during the night sessions.
Hiking shoes are recommended when going to the Teide Park.
How should I manage my suitcases?
Each participant can bring a suitcase and a photographic backpack.
This is to optimize the space in our vans while traveling between the various places and from the Tenerife Sur airport to the hotels / from the hotels to Tenerife Sur airport.
To offer maximum comfort we have limited the number of customers, so there are always empty spaces in the vans to be more comfortable.
How should I organize the backpack and the various things to carry around?
You need to organize your backpack only on the two days when we’ll have packed dinner and wait for the Milky Way after the sunset photo session.
It’s important to have:
- Mirrorless or reflex
- Wide angle (the brightest one you have) and medio tele lens
- Tripod
- Food
- Water
- Warm clothes
- Headlamp
- Sunscreen
- Star tracker (optional)
