Tenerife is an island with prehistoric scenarios that will surprise you. During the night on the Teide park, time seems to have stopped many years ago, the lava and the stars reign. Thanks to the different microclimates of the island, it takes just a few minutes by car to see completely different landscapes, such as the forest, the volcano, the incredible lava formations that create caves and structures of all shapes, the powerful cliffs that stand out in the middle of the sea making the beaches a playground for lovers of the seascape and many other wonders that you will discover during this week.

If you want to improve your photography skills on this breathtaking island, we invite you to join us this week between sea, volcanoes and stars!

What is the audience of the photo tour?

This is a trip for all lovers of landscape photography and for those who want to enjoy the incredible landscapes that this island offers.

We will visit and photograph all the most beautiful places on the island, we will alternate shooting sessions at sunrise, sunset and especially during the night where, above the Teide Park, we will find a crazy setting, perfect for capturing our Galaxy.

During the workshop all aspects related to day and night landscape photography will be studied, from photography theory to post-production. We will start from the theoretical and technical bases, we will see how to apply them, we will evaluate the shots obtained together, and finally, we will see various post-production workflows based on the files we have obtained.

The goal is to go home with a fantastic experience and captivating landscape photographs.

Photo tour timeline

Day 1

Arrival at “TENERIFE SOUTH AIRPORT”

We will wait for you in front of the airport with our van.

We will reach our hotel in Los Cristianos.

Its location is strategic, on foot we can reach markets, restaurants, shops, coffee shops and in a short time you can reach the Teide park by car.

After a brief introduction, we will prepare for the first night photo session in front of one of the most beautiful lighthouses on the island. Here you can already understand what it means to be under the Tenerife sky.

Day 2

Departure at 11am and we will go on a fantastic daytime excursion in the Teide park where the scenery will surprise you.

We will photograph the various lava formations, including caves and peaks of all shapes by putting the sun inside the composition, creating the fantastic “sun star”.

We will plan the photos that we will take directly on the field as soon as it gets dark.

After capturing the sunset in one of the most beautiful spots in the park, we will have a picnic lunch in the middle of nature and will we wait for the visibility of our Galaxy and we will back to the various spots planned during the day.

With the arrival of darkness, the emotion gets stronger, you will feel like you are on Mars, time seems to have stopped and the stone age awaits us. In this park lava and stars reign.

On clear nights you can see the colors of the Milky Way with the naked eye.

Welcome under the most beautiful sky in Europe!

This first night on the Teide park we will change various spots and focus on taking single shots with and without the use of the tracker.

Day 3

Free morning dedicated to relaxation in the heart of Los Cristianos, between shops and beaches.

In the afternoon, we will meet at the hotel to do the first post production session in which we will focus on night photography and its editing.

After the lesson we will prepare and reach for the sunset a beach in the west of Tenerife where imposing and incredible cliffs dominate the landscape.

We will always have a packed dinner and then we will move to another new location in the Teide park, between red rocks where we will go hunting for the Milky Way.

This second night on the Teide park we will focus on making a panoramic with and without the use of the other tracker.

Day 4

This time we will witness a breathtaking sunrise at the “playa de la Tejita”, on the east coast of the island.

After dawn, the morning will be free and you can spend it as you like, on the beach, along the seafront among the restaurants or even in the hotel between the swimming pool and relaxation.

In the afternoon we will have a new session in front of the computer in which we will study advanced themes of both night photography and its post-production.

We will go to have dinner in a restaurant located in an amazing place of the island, “La Masca”!
A small village of few inhabitants perched among green mountains overlooking the sea! Here we will photograph a spectacular sunset.

After sunset we will reach two other fascinating and symbolic sites on Teide, to enjoy another night photo session. Here we will have the opportunity to put into practice the most advanced techniques learned during the course.

Day 5

Departure at 11am to reach the playa de Las Teresitas in the north east of the island.

Here we will enjoy the relaxation for a few hours and then we will leave to reach what is perhaps the most famous and beautiful beach in Tenerife, Benijo, where we will have dinner with a view of the sea before enjoying a photographic session of seascape between waves and cliffs.

After the session, we will go to the most beautiful Mirador on the island, where we will be able to admire the Teide and the coast at the same time, and we will do the night photo session here.

Day 6

This morning we will wake up to go and immortalize the sunrise inside a cave, a very special place that will surprise you.

Free morning dedicated to relaxation in the heart of Los Cristianos, between restaurants and beaches.

Departure at 3pm to reach other incredible spots among lighthouses, natural pools, cliffs and, finally, we will stop to photograph the sunset in another beach full of cliffs and caves.

After having a packed lunch, we will reach the Teide Park for our last night, where we will photograph various different spots and immortalize the Milky Way above the telescopes of the Teide astronomical observatory.

Day 7

What will you learn on this photo tour?

Our goal is to make you happy with your final photographs.

In addition to teaching photographic theories and techniques, we want to convey our passion and make you feel those emotions that you feel only with a reflex in your hand in contact with nature.

What’s a photo tour?

A week of great adventure and fun in amazing natural places.

We have various types of photo tours divided by level of physical effort.

During the week we will go hunting for sunrises, sunsets, Milky Way and Aurora in incredible places.

The purpose of these trips is, in addition to bringing home fantastic photos by improving photographic skills, to get the memory of a lifetime.

During the week we will study photographic theory and technique and then we will analyze and edit the shots obtained.

On these trips we will also enjoy local food and local customs.

Participation

In order to offer the best quality, the maximum of attendees has been limited, so that we can follow each participant closely and in the best way possible. A minimum is also been set for the tour to be confirmed.

To reserve your seat, you can pay a deposit via bank transfer at the moment of the booking and the remaining part within 30 days before departure.

What to wear

Tenerife offers a nice mild climate (min 20°/max 30°), so summer clothing is ideal.

In the evening, for those who suffer from the cold, a windbreaker/sweatshirt is sufficient as the average temperature is still warm.

During the day it’s important to protect yourself from the sun with a hat and possibly a sunscreen.

In the Teide National Park we will be about 2500/2800 meters above sea level, and the situation changes, the temperature can approach zero. Here, winter clothes are essential to protect yourself from the cold and hiking shoes, because although the main paths are easy to walk, it’s advisable to wear comfortable shoes with a good grip on slippery ground.

Equipment

The suggested photographic equipment consists in a reflex or mirrorless supply, with at least two lenses, a wide-angle lens and a medium telephoto lens, and a steady tripod. Optional but recommended: photographic filters and a remote shutter release remote control for long exposures.

Useful tips: Extra batteries, the weather is cold so extra batteries are useful. Multiple cloths to clean the lenses. Spare memory card.

Refund and cancellation policy

If a participant decides to cancel his reservation, he can do so at any time by communicating it as soon as possible to the official email address of one of the two organizers.

However, you should keep in mind that the cancellation by a participant would create management difficulties in bookings as well as the risk of not reaching the minimum number of participants for the trip (and consequently the need to search for a new person).

Because of that:

If the cancellation request is submitted MORE than 60 days (before departure), you may receive a refund of the booking fee.
If the cancellation request is presented LESS than 60 days before departure, it will NOT be possible to receive a refund of the booking fee.

* Unless the customer that desires to cancel his booking brings in another person who is willing to take his place by paying the total amount of the trip itself.

The entire amount paid (deposit or full fee) will be fully refunded if the event is canceled.
