I’ve just got back from a wonderful Winter Lofoten Photo Tour arranged by Go To Photo Tours, and led by Giulio Cobianchi. I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time, and especially to see and photograph the Northern Lights in the far north.
This tour was excellent. We had everything – two stupendous displays of the lights against wonderful mountainous and beach backdrops, as well as beautiful beaches, majestic mountains and fjords, and the charm of Lofoten’s villages in the daytime. Even the weather showed us all sides of the arctic with beautiful blue skies for the first 2 days, followed by snow, cold and arctic winds which also gave us great photography.
Giulio was a great guide, sharing all his knowledge of photography and Lofoten in a very friendly way, and helping us to catch the lights and see and photograph so many wonderful scenes. He even went through two complex editing techniques (focus stacking, panoramas) with us in detail and has provided us with the recordings. I have learnt so much about landscape photography from him and these editing recordings will help me enormously as I start to properly edit more.
The accommodation was very comfortable and cosy (even in the snow) and well situated.
In short, I can very strongly recommend the tour and especially Giulio’s guidance, and I’m so glad I chose it.
