Snow adventure

Jagged peaks, high altitude refuges, sunlit red mountains and breathtaking scenery make the Dolomites one of the most interesting places for landscape photographers and mountain lovers.

The Dolomites are among the most beautiful mountains in the world, they stand out majestically among the valleys, creating breathtaking landscapes.

During the winter covered with snow and during the summer covered with flowers.  At night they are the perfect setting for photographing a fantastic Milky Way.

If you want to capture incredible landscapes in these epic mountains we invite you to join us on one of the various tours here, where we will visit the most beautiful places in all the Dolomites.

This trip was planned down to the smallest detail to be the right place at the right time based on the weather and the month of the year.

Day 1

Meeting point at the Falzarego pass where after a short introduction we reached our first accommodation.

After a first theoretical and practical photographic lesson, we reached our first spot where we can wait for the sunset.

The sky wasn’t the best but it gave us some dramatic scenes.

The group enjoyed finding an aggressive foreground inside an almost frozen river with a majestic spiky mountain in the background. What a spot!

During the night the sky was cloudy and we stayed indoors to study photography.

Day 2

This was a great day! We reached an exclusive spot during dawn, the sky was quite closed and it was snowing but we enjoyed taking moody shots using the snowy trees as natural frames.

The following days I saw these shots edited by my clients and I must say not bad!

Then a guy named Giulio Cobianchi dressed up as Santa Claus 😂 posing for the group above the frozen lake.

After lunch we went to the Fazarego pass, after a short hike we reached our spot.

In the foreground the icy wind had drawn many lines of ice that guided the eye towards our subject, the Sass de Stria!  What a spot!

The weather gave us a beautiful moody sunset!

After dinner the sky was clear, it was very cold, about minus 16/20 degrees centigrade on the Giau pass.  In a short but quite tiring hike due to the level of the snow and the cold (even though we all had snowshoes but the snow reached our knees) we arrived at our spot on top of a mountain which allowed us to make a pano with the whole Galactic bow above the Gusela, the famous mountain of the Giau pass.

Day 3

Abbiamo concluso questo workshop con una magnifica alba colorata al passo Gardena.

The group was really happy, the weather wasn’t easy but we made good use of all the best moments, managing to capture everything, the Milky Way, moody sunsets and colorful sunrises.

We did the editing phase of the shots taken, the following days, on skype on a shared monitor and at the end of the lesson I sent everyone the recording.

Tour Leaders

Giulio Cobianchi led the group through the wonders of these islands. He is a professional landscape photographer, experienced and specialized in night photography with almost 10 years of experience.

Being an outdoor lover he went to the Dolomites since he was a child with his parents.  Dolomites are his photography cradle, he took the first photos here!  With him you will be in the right place at the right time!
